Busy Busy Busy

Hi Everyone :)

im back........

Thursday last week was such a beautiful day.....it was warmish, but even better it was such a sunny day with a  beautiful clear blue sky!!! Emmanuel and I had a nice sleep in (we had been looking forward to this day for a while, i really wanted to spend the whole day with him)......we decided we would catch a train to Redfern (near city) and then walk to Broadway to look at some opp shops etc.........then walk to Newtown to look at some more!! i really wanted a nice fur jacket....about waist length :)

along our walk we came across one of Sydneys uni's....there are apparently 2 campuses to the one uni (there are lots of uni's in sydney)....but one of these campuses Emmanuel used to work on, he helped to build some part of it :)

this is in an area called Broadway....there was a few opp shops that we had fun in :) and a few nice older style buildings!! Emmanuel is obsessed with old buildings and history etc...

i LOVED this building, it was amazing!!! its the uni!!! it made me want to go back to uni just so i could see this building more often :)

 we had a great day together....stayed out till about 5:30 and trained it home and justrelaxed and watched some tv!! Lovely day with my gorgeous man!!

Friday was a long day.....i didnt finish work at Estee Lauder till 7pm......by the time i caught the 2 trains home it was 8:30....Emmanuel was at a Leagues Club with a mate Luke, they were wtching the Dogs/Tigers NRL game.....so during it he came and picked me up from the station (it would take 20-30mins to walk home....and that would be a bit dodgy late at night in the dark all by my lonesome)....he really wanted me to come straight to the Leagues club with them.....but i was so tired and just wanted a shower and some food and then bed....so he dropped me home and he went back to the game!! Luckily his team (Doggies) won so i had a very happy husband!! :)

 

Saturday i worked 11-7pm........but i had to leave home at about 8:45am cause some of the train lines were having work done...so Emmanuel had to drop me off at a station that was running then  i had to catch my 2 trains to work.....was a bit annoying..........work was really good...i was working with a girl named Jennifer.....we are great mates already....same age and she is really sweet!! its just me and her that work there plus a new manager coming this week..........so its only 3 of us that work at our counter!!!! i will mostly be working with my manager or by myself....and will mainly see jen on weekends!!! wish i worked with her more!!! and hope our new manager will be nice!!! :)

after work instead of catching 2 trains home...i caught one in a different direction and was heading to Ramsgate on the South/East Coast....because there was a suprise 30th dress up party for one of Emmanuel's cousins (Nick).....it was a scary/Halloween theme!!!

Because i came straight from work i didnt get dressed up.....when Emmanuel picked me up from the station i just got changed in the car into jeans and a jacket.....so i was not at all in theme!! BUT Emmanuel definitely was!!!!!!!!!!!!! His Cousin Isabel did an awesome job at painting his face....he looked amazing....was so funny when he came to station to get me, he got some funny looks :)

it was a really fun party....just a bunch of family/friends having fun and catching up....some of them looked really good in costume!!

soo...............that was the suprise party for Nick...........at this stage i had been out all day but was still awake....by the time i sat in our car to go home i started to doze off.....sometimes you dont realise how tired you are until you can actually sit down and rest your head!!!!!!

a really good day and lots of fun!!!

today is sunday, and at the moment im home resting!!! im a bit tired and wasnt feeling the best before....thought i was getting the flu or something! so im nice and relaxed and enjoying a day of rest!!! i have tomorrow off and then im working 7 days straight (not all day thank God)...........

Estee Lauder

Just a quick update!!!

1st of all, thank you so much to everyone for reading my blogs!! i really appreciate it.......i started it as a way to show my family/friends what life is like over here in Sydney........and also to pass on any tips about makeup etc.....plus just to have some fun!!! so thank you for coming along for the ride!!!

Now, my new job......Estee Lauder beauty consultant at Bondi Junction !!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY JOB!!!! i know i onlyt started yesterday.....and there are always things about your job that are annoying.....but i really am in my element there!!!! I love the makeup/skincare/fragrance range!! I love our counter and the way it is setup/ I love all the girls/women on the other counters, they are very sweet and helpful....not at all snobbish.....I love Bondi and the customers we get!! (its very upper-class/posh and so we get a lot of older very wealthy women who come to buy from us....they are very confident women who know what they are after and have been using Estee products for centuries....some of them are quite bossy :) but the majority are very friendly and funny....some of them have had facelifts and botox and everything else you can get....its quite funny!!) but seriously i love it there....Im working for a great company where there is always room to move up, im in an environment that i love (surrounded by makeup) and its pushing me to face my fears and be bold etc.....

whenever you start a new job, it always takes a little while to feel 'yourself' there, where everything becomes familiar etc..and to relax....so i know it will take me a few days! i have only been there 2 days so i do feel very much out of my comfort zone and a bit nervous at times....but im just allowing myself time to settle....hehehe i still get lost when i try to find the staff doors or the staff room :) it all comes with time!!!

There is such a massive range of makeup and skincare that i have to learn (spec the skin care) but thats all the fun of it i guess.....cause i do love to stretch myself and to learn new things!!

so there you have it!!! Im loving my job......i still have my sportsgirl job (as of next week i will be at sportsgirl every friday for about 5 hours) so im glad i can work the 2 jobs together!!

i should get my uniform next shift which will be great, then i really will feel like an Estee girl!!! Its a skirt and blazer with a gold EL pin!!

I have 2mrw off with Emmanuel which i have been looking forward too all week (im going opp shopping with him cause i really am trying to find a really nice fur jacket-very cheap!!! i hope)

then fri and sat i have long days!! Emmanuel is still looking for some work, so hopefully something comes thru for him soon......i love him so much he is such an amazing husband...i am a very blessed girl!!!!

sunday...monday.....

Ahhhhhhh Sunday morning Emmanuel and i slept till about 9am..was so nice.......then we got ready and choofed off to church as usual!! was a great morning as there was a visiting preacher from Texas who was really really good, i cant remember his name though!!!

after church we went to some shops for a little while and then evetually went home cause we had something to do!!!!!! COLOUR MY HAIR~~~serisouly i asked Emmanuel if he would put a colour in my hair......my hair had faded a lot (you couldnt tell so much in previous photots, but face to face you could). I asked Emmanuel if he would give it a go and he said YES :)

hehehe, so we went home and i taught him what to do....we were both a bit nervous....i was a lil scared he would make my hair look patchy!!!

Yep, this is what he did to me :) heheheheheheehehe (no im not on the toilet, im sitting on the lid).....he gave me a mohawk :)

think he actually enjoyed himslef :)

i really appreciated him doing it for me.......after washing and blowdrying my hair i was very very happy with the outcome....i had nice fresh hair and it didnt cost anything (only for the colour)...i saved so much money!!! Emmanuel was so proud of himself!!!! he now thinks he is a pro hairdresser :)

so.........THANK YOU BABE FOR DOING A GREAT JOB...........YOU ARE NOW MY NEW HAIR COLOURIST (my friend who normally colours my hair has recently had a baby and i didnt want to disturb her....so Emmanuel is now stuck with being my hair colourist)

today (monday) i worked at Sportsgirl.....went a bit slow today, monday normally is like that!!

Im very excited and a bit nervous because tomorrow i start my new job at Estee Lauder!!! its only a 4 hour shift, which is good for my first shift......but yeah i cant wait for my 1st day to be over.....but im very excited!!!

Friday and Saturday............

On Friday i had more of the David Jones training.....from 9am-5 (we really finished after 4 though!!), so by Fri night i was a little bit tired!!! not over tired though like i thought i would be (I have really low iron levels, i found out a few years ago that my body doesnt store iron, it uses whatever iron i put in my body but cant actually store it for the days when i really need it.....so im on really good iron tablets and i try to be good with my eating which is hard cause i dont like red meat.........and times around my period sometimes im just exhausted.......) how did i get onto that??? :) oh yes, i thought i would be really tired, but i think that cause ive been really good at not missing my iron tablets and ive been eating better lately, it has helped a bit!! ive been making spinach leave salads for myself.....ive heard spinach has lots of iron, so i use spinach leaves, tomato, tuna, beans, cashew nuts and chilli sauce and i mix it up and i love it!!!! :) hehehe interesting i know!!!

I love being in the city.....poeple have said 'yeah you get over it' and im sure if you worked there day in day out it wouldnt be so appealing after a while.....but for someone like me who grew up in Tasmania.......i really do feel alive when im in the city!!! I consider myself a bit of a beachy/country girl.....and i dont like stuck up rude people that you quite often see in big city's.....but you can also meet some lovely people and see some beautiful places!!! whenever i get off that train in the city....i just love it!!!! (maybe in a few months i will change my mind after travelling to bondi all the time for Estee Lauder)  :)

Saturday, Emmanuel and i had plans to go look at a couple places for furniture....there were a few bargain places!! so first of all we had a really nice sleep in together!!! one of my favourite things to do!!!

then we drove to a few suburbs near the city called Newtown and St.Peters......its like a whole new world there, its very greeny/alternative and old style!! Lots of heritage places and unusual people :) but we loved our time there!! it took nearly an hour and a half to drive there because the roads were so busy!!!

well.............we didnt buy any furniture, and we are trying to be really careful with money because Emmanuel is still looking for work (its been 3 weeks now with no work)...........but i did find this!!!!!!!!!!!!..................

i found a pre-loved Bobbi Brown book for $6!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can you believe it, only 6 dollars!!!!!!

i was so excited cause its a really good book, its all about beauty on the outside and inside!! it covers things like makeup, eating, fashion style etc etc.......really really good book!!

i added this picture from the Bobbi Brown book because this woman reminds me of my mum!!!! she is the president of Bobbi Brown or something and seriously there is something about her that reminds me of my own mother :) if your reading this mum, thats a compliment cause i think this woman looks great :)

so we had a great time looking in different shops, opp shops, antique shops etc....then we had lunch in a funky little cafe!!! by the time we finished and drove home it was about 5:30 and we were tired....Emmanuel had a headache and i was feeling tired so we decided to have a lazy night.........we watched the NRL matches on tv and were sad cause our team lost........it was such a great game....Doggies against the NZ Warriors......it was an even score at the end until like the last minute where their team scored a try

after all that.......we had a bit of a late night and eventually crawled into bed, snuggled up and fell asleep.......dreaming away until sunday came!!! :)
