i LOVE this site!!!!

a friend of mine told me about it after a conversation we had about pinup clothing styles and the show Mad Men.....

as soon as i visited the website i was hooked....i havn't actually purchased anything yet...but everynow and then i have a look...so i thought i would share with you some of the dresses i love, and would love to have hanging in my wardrobe :)

My work...Estee Lauder Counter

i thought it was about time i showed you some pics of my work...well at least the counter i work at! and my work mates!

so i work for Estee Lauder in Bondi, with 2 other people, my manager is a 25 yr old guy and the other makeup artist is a 24 yr old female...we all get on so well and have a blast together!! i will remember this job for the rest of my life!

some of the range that came out before christmas....the Bronze Goddess range, it was a hit in Bondi and sold out so quickly!!

I really love my job, like every place of work, it has its moments...but im happy there...i also believe the people you work with make a HUGE difference in your day to day life! they can either make or break you!

im a very lucky girl to have such a great job and be with such a great team!

i will talk soon in another post about my plans for this year as i have some pretty big changes coming this year....and i wont be in this job forever....so im making the most of the time i have...it will all make sense soon!

pin up

I was going out for dinner early December with some friends and my hair was a bit dirty and in need of a wash...but cause my hair is short i cant tie it up......so i came up with an idea....

i saw a picture of a 50's pin up look with a scarf in the lady's hair and i loved it....so i decided to hide my hair a bit and make it appropriate for going out without looking like an exclusive brethren :) lol

so here is my modern day pin up look :)

the 3 photos above were taken on my Iphone so they arn't as clear as the one below which was taken on my regular camera!

and i just realised you cant even see the back of my hair...i pinned the sides and back of my hair up but left the front with a  bit of height..

Coogee beach

One thing we did do in December...was go to the beach a couple of times!!

one of my favourite beaches in Sydney is Coogee..i have posted about it before...

we went again and i took lots of pics....so i wanted to share!!

the cliff side is beautiful too!!

looking at this picture makes me want to go swimming....doesnt the water look inviting!!

we had a lovely day at the beach....i cant remember the date but it was sometime early december....we went swimming, then had fish and chips to eat for a late lunch and went for a nice walk around the cliff side, then  ate ice-creams and lay on the grass....beautiful day with my husband!!

update.....

WOW....i cant believe i havn't posted anything for over a month!!!

it wasn't planned at all....i just missed a few days, which turned into weeks...i guess i got bored with it all....

but now im back into it

since my last post, i have turned 25, celebrated christmas and New Years Eve and we are now in 2011....a lot can happen in 1 month :)

so just letting you know, im still alive and there will be plenty of posts and photos to come....from random things to going to a U2 concert on my birthday, chistmas at Bondi beach and New Years Eve with the Sydney City fireworks.........

plus a new career change could be on the horizon (all will be revealed soon)

so stick with me and i wont be so boring from now on :)

Bravery and Colour :)

why am i beaing brave??

cause im going to do a 'before' shot....and an 'after' shot

and that means a yucky photo!!! LOL

 

so here is a before makeup shot...in the morning....no makeup, my hair flat and 'not done'.....looking very pale and quite sickly (no im not sick...im just naturally quite pale)

im adding a before photo, so you can see what a difference makeup makes!!!!

it can open up your eyes, even out skin tone...add warmth to your skin and a million other things!!

anyways....that photo is from a previous post....this post is about showing you the other colours from Lime Crime

so i shall start with COSMOPOP

(pale orange)

i actually quite like this one, but i do think it looks better in photos than in real life...love the colour though!!

Next is D'Lilac....this is so fluro!!!

this one i actually think i prefer face to face...the colour is a little odd on camera :)

here im holding the lipstick....so you can see that what you see in the tube is what you will get on your lips...pretty cool!!

here i had kissed a tissue to tone it down a bit, plus the sun light has washed it out!!

its still quite bright though....quite pretty!! i like it with smokey eyes!!

now...one of my fav's (as you know i LOVE pink lipstick)

this one is from my original purchase that i have posted about before...its called Great Pink Planet and is a baby pink (very pigmented....so dont need a lot)

I LOVE THIS LIPSTICK!!

so far from all the lipsticks i have purchased from Lime Crime, my favourites would be

1. Great Pink Planet

2. Centrifuchsia (in the very top photo-fuchsia colour)

3.Airbourne Unicorn (not in this post but its a purple)

and probably also Cosmopop

it's not that i dont like the others cause i love them all....it's just that i would wear these ones a bit more!!

just so you know....these were all taken in the same day...same smokey eye, the only thing that has changed in the photos is the lipstick and the blush (for cosmopop i had a coral/bronze colour blush....and for the others i had a pinky coloured blush)

so as i said last post....my order form Lime Crime (thats my 2nd order in total now) had arrived, and i had to pick it up from the post office....

update....

Ok....so Mad Men.....i still like the show but it is starting to really bug me....

im just a LITTLE over Mr.Don Draper's cheating ways!!!! how many times can 1 man cheat on his wife??? my gosh!!!

yes i still love the fashion, and the characters and the setting....seeings its set in the 60's.....but im so over all the cheating!!!

just thought i would put that out there :)

on another note....i have to go to the post office later 2day to pick up a package from Lime Crime....i ordered 3 more lipsticks from them over a week ago and it looks like they have arrived....so i will add photos etc when i recieve them!! something to look forward to!!

Mad Men

so here is a tv show i've recently been introduced to (im watching it on dvd)

it took me a few episodes to get into it...at first i thought it was a little dark and boring...and i hated how a lot of men cheated on their wives...seriously it felt like no one respected the institution of marriage!!!

but then i fell in love with the show...i Love the characters...you really start to feel their pain and their joy...I LOVE THE FASHION....gosh i really am into things from the 50's/ 60's....

its a drama, and you would want to watch it when you have time to concentrate...so that you can really pay attention....

there are parts i dont particularly like...but overall i like watching things from years gone by (well set in history...but its made now)

here is some of the main characters...the 2 in the middle are like the main couple...Don and Betty Draper...

the men from the office, they work in advertising

seriously i wish we had more fashion from that era...i would so wear this dress!!!!

2 of my all time favourite characters....Don Draper and also Joan (Christina Hendricks...who you would prob notice from previous posts...she was one of my red hair inspiration)

its amazing how the women are treated in this series and it goes to show how far this world has come as far as equality and womens rights!!!! gosh there was so much sexual discrimination back then towards women!! they were seen as pieces of meat sometimes (i know there are still elements of that these days...but nothing like what is portrayed on the show)

they also smoke so much (i did find out that they arn't real ciggarettes in the show...there is no nicotine in them because they have to smoke so much on set that wouldve been so bad for the actors health) but in the show they smoke in bed, at dinner, in the work office etc etc...its really funny to look back on!!

the wonderful cast...they have won so many awards in America!!

Betty...whose name in real life is January Jones (cool name hey)

this woman can never put a foot wrong!!

now to my 3 favourite characters....firstly Don Draper

of course any women on the planet would have to admit he is a highly attractive man :)

plus a very intriguing man....

he makes the work place very interesting....

now his beautiful wife Betty Draper

she is such an interesting character, so dark and sad yet so sweet and perfect...

just wish her husband was faithful :(

 

and lastly of course...the wonderful Joan.....she makes this show...her character is amazing...strong and bold, fiery yet sweet!! Love her....

i even channeled her a bit at a recent wedding we attended :)

maybe i can be a modern day Joan :) lol

so yes, im enjoying the show and am currently watching season 2...im hoping it just gets better and better

go and watch Mad Men :)
